Government College, Anantapur Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

Hostel facilities are available for students. The college has a new men’s hostel building worth Rs 6 crores was constructed in 2012, with 120 rooms accommodating around 1200 students. 

The college has a Women’s hostel with an outlay of 45 lakhs, constructed and commenced during 2014-2015, accommodating 150 women students. 

The facility supports regular study, research work and competitive examination preparation. The college Library has more than 93000 volumes of books, subscribes to 12 National and International Print Journals, and also has membership with N-LIST. SOUL Software is being used for Library Automation. Apart from the central library, each department has a separate library with a good collection of books.

Department laboratories support practical and experimental learning across different subjects. The laboratories at the college allow students to perform experiments and understand concepts through practical application. The college has a Department that has three spacious, well-equipped, and fully functional Physics laboratories established during the British Period, which provide ample facilities and a conducive environment for the students to learn experimental techniques and their applications as part of their curriculum.

Sports facilities encourage students to remain physically active alongside their academic commitments. The college has Three Playgrounds available on the college campus to conduct sports and games. Exclusive football grounds, hockey grounds, volleyball courts, ball badminton courts, and outdoor shuttle courts are available.

The auditorium serves as a venue for academic, cultural, and institutional programmes. The college uses the facility for seminars, events and other student activities. Participation in such programmes allows students to gain exposure beyond classroom learning. 

The campus cafeteria caters to the refreshment needs of students and staff. It gives students a convenient place to take breaks between classes and spend time with their peers. Easy access to refreshments makes campus life more comfortable and helps students remain refreshed during their academic schedule.

The college conducts periodic health-related camps and General medical camps for its students, faculty, administrative staff, and non-teaching staff.

Modern technology supports several academic activities across the campus. The IT Infrastructure at the college facilitates computer-based learning and access to digital resources. 

The college's well-equipped Gymnasium (Fitness Centre) is primarily meant for Sports students. Keeping the need for fitness for all, staff members can also avail of the facility. The use of equipment is to be done under supervision. The Gymnasium is open to outsiders.

The college has a Wi-Fi-enabled campus, Upgraded computer laboratories, ICT-enabled classrooms, Smart classrooms, Enterprise Resource Planning, Computers provided in Departments, Offices, controllers of Examinations, Browsing Centres, and a Library.
