Governing body college, Kullu was established in the year 1967 located at the famous Kullu valley in Himachal Pradesh. This affiliated college is situated at Dhalpur, National Highway 21 where it has been imparting its service since more than five decades. The University occupies 5 acres area which enhance learning and academic environment on the campus. Currently the college with high enrollment of 5071 students and faculty strength of 56 has developed and is teaching 36 courses under 8 degree programs. Indeed, like any other academically prestigious institution, Government College, Kullu has the Honor of being accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The college has several installations meant to complement the process of learning throughout the academic year. Students have an opportunity to access well-equipped laboratories that enable practical learning as well as practical research. The library acts as an information center, which provides literature including books, journals, and magazines for academic purposes among others. For those interested in sports and games facilities for the same has been because the college provides a common hall for gym, sports ground for almost all types of games like cricket, hockey, football, Athletic ground etc. The campus also comprises of boys main and girls’ main hostels with the capacities of 52 and 100 students respectively of accommodating those students from far off places. The college has a rich Information Technology facilities with 87 internet enabled computers to enable the students to embrace the new epoch. Moreover, auditorium organizes various events and seminars whereas canteen fulfils students/staffs food requirement.

All programs of study at Government College, Kullu are categorized under undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It offers 36 full time courses in Commerce, Science, Arts, Computer Applications, Management, Library Science etc and some of the main courses are B.Com, BCA, BBA, BA, B.Sc etc. The college also provides the option of specific sectors authorized B.Voc in Retail Management and B.Voc in Hospitality and Tourism. In the postgraduate level, students can study MA in English, Economics, Political Science, Hindi and Tourism Administration. The overall enrolment of students in different courses stands at 5071, and thus declaring the current institution as a vital contributor to university education in this area.
