The Silicon Valley of India- Bengaluru- is home to a Government College of Pharmacy. Bengaluru is also the capital of Karnataka state. The Government College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru (GCPB) was founded back in the year 1964. It is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), also based in Bengaluru. This affiliation ensures that the college remains recognized by the UGC (University Grants Commission). The tech courses in the institute are recognized by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). Admissions to the various programmes at the master’s level is via the GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test). This is a test conducted by the AICTE. For the UG level, it is the DTE (Directorate of Technical Education) that finalizes the list. Research is another key aspect, here at the Government College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru. To facilitate this research, the library here is one of the best stocked within the region. Besides the physical books on display, it also provides digital access to en number of international academic journals for research and academic purposes. Several seminars and conferences are also periodically organized on campus.
The campus has much to offer. There are hostel facilities for boys. There is a sports field where cricket and football may be played. Facilities are also there for indoor sports.
