Government First Grade College, Bhadravati Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The Govt. First Grade College Bhadravathi library has come into existence in 1993 to serve the user community.  In the midst of its excellent setup of academic activities, the library acts as a nerve center catering to the needs of the students, researchers, and faculty members of the Arts and Commerce disciplines. The GFGC BHADRAVATHI library has been shaped as a center of excellence for academic and research pursuits, keeping it open to the changes brought about by information technology. To fulfill the vision and mission of our institution, a beautiful library was established with an initial collection of 500 books and now it is rich with more than 18,229 unique titles of 5214 with automation. To broaden and enrich the students’ quality in gaining relevant knowledge, our library is providing more than 10 regional and national journals in specific areas and 15 Magazines along with a subscription to INFLIBNET N-LIST E-Resources and other open-access electronic resources. 

Besides imparting excellent commerce and management education to the students, the college also encourages extra-curricular activities and sports and games. The college has provided excellent sports and games opportunities for the students for their all-round development. It has a large playground for football, cricket, hockey, kho-kho, and indoor facilities for judo, wrestling, and table tennis.

A well-equipped computer lab is provided to the college students. It has 25 computers with NT Network Lab. internet facilities will be provided on campus. Faculty and students can access online resources through UGC - Infonet-based NLIST for their studies and research activities and also can download and take printouts at minimum charges.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students with wholesome food to the students at subsidized rates.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college has a boy’s hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

The college has a girl's hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

The Alumni of the college was established on 01/09/2009. Dr. B.G. Amrutheshwar is the coordinator and Mr. Selvraj, Mr. T.S. Raju, and Smt. Asha is President, Secretary, and Joint-Secretary respectively. Since its inception, various useful programs have been planned and executed. Workshops were held for the development of a comprehensive personality of each student. Every year, two meetings will be conducted regularly to discuss various issues related to the association and its role in the development of the college. Alumni’s contribution is noteworthy in enhancing the admission. Thus, along with the present students, Alumni are also putting forth their might for the overall development of the college. Their service, suggestions, and cooperation are always readily available.
