Government Hamidia Arts and Commerce College, situated in Bhopal was established in 1946 and today it is one of the oldest and reputed educational institute of central India particularly Madhya Pradesh. This college for both boys and girls located in a campus area of 7.169 acres is an affiliated college recognised by NAAC. It has been over seven decades since the college was started, and it has emerged as one of the most critical institutions of higher learning given that it has been offering 32 courses in eight degree programmes. This institution offers education to four thousand, eight hundred and thirty students, by fifty-nine dedicated members of faculty.
Government Hamidia Arts and Commerce College boasts of access to high quality infrastructure and equipment to complement the study process. The library being a storehouse of knowledge has stacked more than One Lac Seven Thousand nine hundred and four books, reference and periodicals all in sync with the academic requirements of the students of the university. The campus has Wi-Fi throughout; however, for the library and most departments, the Wi-Fi is timely to provide swift access to the libraries. As part of practical learning, the college make available equipped departmental laboratory for use by the students. A well-equipped auditorium also benefits the campus weather for events or seminars; the campus is alive. The college has also has well developed Information Technology facilities that include enhanced technology used in teaching methodologies and electronic learning.

The courses range from the simplest level with subjects in arts, commerce, and computer application.
