Degree wise Admission Proces
BA Courses: BA courses are available in various streams such as English Literature, Sociology, Home Science, and Geography. The general BA course admits 350 students, while specialized courses such as BA English Literature and BA Sociology admit 80 students each. Students are selected on a merit basis of marks secured in the 10+2 examination.
B.Sc Courses: Lal Chakradhar Shah College offers B.Sc courses with various specializations. The B.Sc Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry take 160 seats, and the course of B.Sc Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry takes 60 seats. Passing 10+2 in science streams and fulfilling the percentage criteria by the college are the prerequisites.
B.Com Programme: There is a 75-seat B.Com programme run by the college. Admission is given based on the marks obtained in the 10+2 exam with an added preference being accorded to the commerce students.
MA Programmes: Postgraduate courses offered include Hindi, Political Science, Economics, and History with each programme having an admission capacity of 35 seats (30 for History). The candidates must complete their bachelor's degree in the said subject or a related subject for them to qualify.
M.Sc Courses: M.Sc courses in Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology are offered by the college. The admission for each course is 35 seats in the case of Chemistry and 30 seats in the case of Botany and Zoology. Admission is done on the basis of marks secured in the respective bachelor's degree course.
