SPMR Jammu Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college has a boy’s hostel and has 39 rooms with a capacity to accommodate approximately 110 residents. There are separate rooms for the warden’s office and visitors. The hostel maintains a first aid box with all the necessary first aid and medicines to handle medical emergencies. It ensures 24-hour security and the safety of the residents.

The college library has a collection of more than 40,000 texts and reference books besides several journals, magazines, periodicals, newsletters, and newspapers. Facilities of the Reading Room and Reference Section are also provided to the students. With the help of the University Grants Commission, a Text Book Section has also been established where a large number of textbooks are made available to needy and deserving students.

The college is renowned for producing victors in sports. The college has a splendid playground for Cricket, Football, Hockey, Tennis, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Handball, basketball, and Badminton. Games are played regularly and every student is expected to play at least one game. After the completion of the admission process, college teams are announced based on the trials and a rigorous selection process. Arrangements have been made for indoor games. Members of the various teams must report punctually for practice and matches. The absentees will be fined.

Keeping in view the global advancement in computer sciences, the utility of computer education and info-tech awareness has become the need of the hour. Recognizing this fact and to fulfill the objective, the college has set up a computer lab equipped with the latest software and internet to provide a wide range of facilities and training to the students and staff.

Adjoining the Recreation Hall, the college has its canteen. It is on the main campus and caters as a tuck shop to the students and the staff at concessional rates. Off late, Lipton Kiosk has also been installed.

A photocopying machine has been installed in the library for the staff and the students to make use of it at a nominal cost.

The College has fast-changing work environment has brought about drastic changes in the career market and the ever-changing globalized environment has thrown open promising and challenging career options. Therefore, it is desirable to help youngsters in shaping their careers right from the very beginning. Keeping this in mind, the Job Placement & Career counseling cell has been established to help students get the latest information about academic, career, and job-oriented issues. For job placement, face-to-face interaction is often arranged with industrial and commercial concerns. To provide part-time jobs, the establishment of entrepreneurs under self-employment schemes and other job-related assistance are our proposed operational areas.

S.P.M.R. Talent Club - EXPRESSIONS provides an opportunity for the students to exhibit their talent in the field of literary, cultural, and art-related activities. Looking into the multifaceted talent of the students' Expressions - The Talent Club of the college offers its students an opportunity to develop and display their talent in various co-curricular activities such as debates, quizzes, essay writing, painting, acting, music, etc. Their performance here is used as a stage to prepare them for participating in the various competitions organized by the colleges, the University of Jammu, and other cultural organizations. There is ample opportunity for students to showcase their talent facilitated by various clubs and societies like; The College Debating Society, Drama Club, Eco Club, Population Club, and Commerce Study Club. Alumni Association parents Association Students welfare council, teaching and non-teaching staff welfare council, etc.
