Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Chandigarh Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College hostel is situated on the College premises amidst the tranquil ambiance that pervades the surroundings. It offers a pleasant living experience to its residents who come from different states and countries. A large number of students from diverse backgrounds reside in our hostel, which has about 350 seats. The hostel building comprises a Dining Hall with a modern Kitchen, a Common Room with LCD and indoor games, a Reading Room with an internet facility, and a Gurudwara fringed by the lush green environs of a garden. The Dining Hall/Mess is equipped with the Bain Marie heating facility for hot food self-service. The meticulously developed hostel provides all requisite modern facilities, which include Water Coolers with Aqua guards, Room Coolers on the top floor, and Geysers in the bathing area.

The college has a Psychology Laboratory equipped with various psychological tests and equipment. In this lab, we have different tests and tools to assess the intelligence, personality, and creativity of the students. The students and members of the faculty make use of these tests for conducting research. It is a State-Of-the-Art lab equipped with the latest technology and Software to train graduates in English courses to impart teaching a skills, oral skills, and presentation skills.

The College Library is well stocked with more than 24000 books which are distributed and divided into various sections depending upon the subjects they belong to. 19 different newspapers are also subscribed to in English, Hindi, and Punjabi. The Library has dedicated different sections for various purposes like the Periodical Section, Circulation Section, Book Bank Section, e-Learning Resource Centre, etc. A reading room is also there in the library for students to sit and study their books.

The college has sports facilities for all students.

The College has four laboratories that come under the umbrella of our computer department, and these contain a total of 100 networked workstations.
