Guru Nanak College is situated in Bank More, Dhanbad, Jharkhand and it is one of the most prestigious colleges. This college does the admissions taking into account the norms of the state government and also of the university and in addition to that has pretty transparent admission policy.

Degree based Admission Process

B.Com and B.Com Accountancy Hons: The college offers 400 seats for B.Com and 550 seats for B.Com Accountancy Hons. Admission is based on the candidate's performance in the 10+2 examination, particularly for subjects related to commerce.

BA and BA Hons Programs: Guru Nanak College provides a variety of BA programs along with a general BA (200 seats) and branches into special BA Hons courses. These include BA Political Science Hons (150), BA History Hons (150), BA Psychology Hons (128), BA Economics Hons (128), BA English Hons (128), and BA Hindi Hons (128). Admission to these courses is almost always on the basis of performance in the qualifying examination.

BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications): The college offers 60 seats in the course of BCA. Admission most probably would be on a criterion of marks obtained in the 10+2 exam, giving reservation for students from a mathematics or computer science background.

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): Guru Nanak College provides B.Ed programs having a strength of 100 seats. B.Ed admissions are more structured and the merit list is made on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam and/or performance in an entrance exam. The selection method follows the policy of the state government/U.T. Administration and University.

Academics are very bad as examination of semester do not held in the right time. The classes do not run properly. Results are also published very late . Students also faces lots of problem in their academics.
