Himachal Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Hamirpur is among the pioneer institute for the field of pharmaceutical education. This affiliated college was set up in 2008 and is situated in Nadaun, Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. The Pharmacy College and the course mentioned above is officially accredited by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) thereby guaranteeing quality provision of education in the faculty of Pharmacy. The institute now occupies its 2.7 acre space and has a total registration of 209 students. Currently, the reported faculty is 16 members strong and HIPER provides 1  programme with degrees in Pharmacy .

Himachal Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research has been endowed with different facilites that can enhance the learners academic and even personal development. HIPER also has a boys’ hosted and a girls’ hosted to ensure extra security and comfort of the students. The campus is provided with a library with a collection of about 3500 books on different concerning aspects of pharmacy, Ten periodicals and daily newspapers subscriptions are also available. To support practical learning, the institute has an efficient laboratory for Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and for Central Instrumentation Facility. Students can also have the access to IT facilities of the institute such as a computerised laboratory that contains forty computers connected to internet. All the corners of the real estate are Wi-Fi friendly; the institution uses a hundred Megabytes per second internet connection that enables online learning and research.

HIPER has one and only programme at the full-time level for field of pharmacy. The degree course of B.Pharma was commenced with an intake capacity of 60 students. Such programme are intended to deliver a rich content of knowledge as well as realistic skills to any learner interested in the pharmaceutical sciences.

The process of admission at HIPER is mainly rooted in the Himachal Pradesh Combined Entrance Test, Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test in short. This exam is an important qualifying process that the intending students wishing to gain admission into the institute’s pharmacy courses.
