About IGE Kolkata
Institute of Genetic Engineering Kolkata (IGE Kolkata) was established in 2003. IGE Kolkata is one of the first colleges in eastern India to offer courses in genetics and biotechnology. IGE Kolkata courses include a mix of UG and PG programmes. Institute of Genetic Engineering is recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC) and is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT).
IGE Kolkata UG programmes include B.Sc courses in biotechnology, microbiology, molecular biology, medical imaging technology and medical lab technology. Institute of Genetic Engineering also offers courses in BBA, BBA(HM) BCA and optometry. IGE PG courses include M.Sc courses in genetics, biotechnology, microbiology. IGE Kolkata admissions are done on the basis of the last qualifying merit of the applicants however the admission process may differ from time to time as per the guidelines of MAKAUT.

College Infrastructure
The ininfrastructure of is average, but the equipment of is very poor. Some device are kept there just for show, some are broken. The classroom is okay. The canteen is not hygienic at all, most of the time foods are not available.
