Library
About Library
The Library in the main campus is well equipped with 39708 reference and text books, 22 journals on current subjects, 2100 back volumes of periodicals, and good number of government and Institution reports. Library provides services like borrowing, reference, internet e-mail and e-journals facilities to students, teachers and research scholars of all the departments. The Library is getting e-journals under UGC-INFONET programme.
General Facilities
The Post-Graduate Centre was started with the Departments of (i) Economics and (ii) Commerce in 1979 by the University of Mysore. With the shifting of departments to the new campus at Shivagangothri in the year 1999, the Library also Davangere University was Established on 18th August 2009 and shifted. Currently the library is located in the first floor of academic block building with stack section in ground floor and reference cum periodical section in the second floor.
Boys Hostel
There are 6 PG hostels two each (Old block and New block each with 50 rooms) for men and women on the main campus. In total, 450 boys and 450 girls can be accommodated in these hostels. There are kitchen and well-furnished dining hall, store room and accommodation for Mess staff available. There are common bathrooms and toilets for students usage. The rooms are specious, dimensions of each room is approximately, 12”x15’’ with two windows for ventilation and shelves (wardrobes) for three students.
Every room is fitted with two fluorescent tube lights and a fan. In each room three students are accommodated and individual student is provided with a cot, table and chair. Internet Browsing facilities are made available to the students in the hostels. The hostels are guarded by security personnel day and night. The students studying at Shivagangotri only can avail the hostel facilities.

Cafeteria
Canteen Facility is available for both Staff and Students in the Campus. The Canteen Provides Hygiene, quality and fairness food. The pricing is most rationalized and the taste, variety, quality and quantity are all determined by the user-demand.
Apart from the Canteen, There are exclusive Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian mess facilities for Hostel Residents. The food provided to the hostel inmates is prepared with utmost hygiene and catering to the need and taste of students from various parts of the country. Demonstrating utmost concern about the inmates’ health, only purified water is provided to them.
Every care is taken to prevent any kind of contamination in food, water and living conditions in the hostels. The hostel is run on not-for-profit basis and every care is taken to make it as homely as possible to make students comfortable enough to focus on their studies.
Medical/Hospital
The health centre in the University is headed by a Visiting Medical Officer assisted by a full time nurse at Shivagangotri Campus. It has the preliminary diagnostic facilities and provides health care to the faculty, staff, and students.
Auditorium
There is excellent a sumptuous auditorium of Davangere University Campus with 300 seating capacity furnished with ablazing lights, good acoustics, cue light system, fixed talk back and additional talk back facilities, etc.
Banks/ATMs
To provide the banking facility for the students and staffs, university has established State Bank of India’s Campus Branch inside the college campus. To make banking easier for our students, 24 hours ATM facility has been provided. Hostel students enjoy the benefits more.
Parking Facility
There is excellent on-campus parking with entrances to general student and visitor car parks on the right and left of the main access road. Wide and sufficient parking places are provided separately for staff and students with 24 x 7 security with CCTV surveillance system. Our University open field spacious parking facility can accommodate more than 200 two wheelers and 40 four wheeler.
Sports
With the belief “A Healthy mind in a healthy body”. Physical education is an integral part of educational programmer designed to promote the optimum development of an individual physically, emotionally, mentally, socially and spiritually through total body movement in the performance of properly selected physical activities. The primary aims of physical education have varied, based on the needs of the time and place. Most of the institutions’ goal is to provide students with knowledge, skills, capacities, values and the enthusiasm to maintain a healthy lifestyle into adulthood.
The University campus is equipped with several international quality sports facilities and fitness centers to promote physical fitness among the students and faculty. Fields for Cricket and Football, Basketball and Volleyball courts, Gymnasium and facilities for Indoor Games available. Ample opportunities are provided for the students to take part in all indoor and outdoor sports activities. The University has facilities for organizing and playing Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Foot Ball and Cricket. Inter-College tournaments, Inter-Branch matches and Athletic Meets can be conducted regularly, in all its grandeur of purpose. The University conducts inter-collegiate tournaments, team selection trials for participation of Students in interuniversity tournaments, coaching camps and in-door and out-door games. It supports all the activities relating to sports.
Training and Placement Cell
Davangere University’s, Institute of Management Studies has a dedicated placement cell to cater to the events and activities pertaining to placements. And the students graduating from this professionally driven Institute are today serving with great companies and in high management positions.
