Janata Mahavidyalaya, Chandrapur was established in 1958 by Shri S.B. Jiwatode Guruji. The college offers education to socially and economically disadvantaged students. It began with undergraduate programs in Arts and Commerce, later adding Science courses in 1961. The JMV Chandrapur was the sole institution in the combined Chandrapur-Gadchiroli District during its inception. Over time, the college expanded its offerings, introducing post-graduate courses in Commerce in 1971 and in Arts (Political Science and Economics) in 1980, addressing the evolving needs of students. JMV offers more than four UG and 10 PG courses.
JMV admission is granted for courses like MSc. Botany, MSc. Physics, MA English, M.Com., BA, BSc. BBA, MA Economics, MSc. Computer Science, etc. For UG JMV courses, the eligibility criteria for candidates is to pass 10+2 and for PG courses, they need to pass Graduation from any recognized University. The first year JMV fees of B.Sc is Rs 1843 at this college. Internship is not provided but JMV campus placement is provided to students who are studying in their last year. Various private and public sector companies visit its campus every year to test and hire skilled and trained students for various prominent roles.
Recently, the college received a B-Grade accreditation with a 2.67 CGPA from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore. Acknowledging the significance of Computer Science, Microbiology, and Chemistry in the contemporary world, as well as the well-developed labs and library, the college sought to initiate post-graduate programs in these subjects.

JMV admission to various specializations of UG and PG courses is provided to candidates on the basis of their past academic performance. Candidates have to first register online by visiting JMV’s official website. They need to keep the following documents ready before applying online for JMV Chandrapur admission at this college.
All original documents (photocopy) must be uploaded online.

Click on the Register now button.
Now, generate username and password.
After generating login credentials, login with username and password.
Fill all vacant areas of the registration form.
Now pay online registration fees.
Take two or three prints out of the registration form.
Now submit the registration form with original documents to Janata Mahavidyalaya admission committee.
Follow the same procedure for First Year, Second Year and Third Year of UG and PG courses.

It was not even a college, it was just time-pass.
College Infrastructure
The building is very old and they should renew it a bit. The campus is huge but needs to be cleaned. Library is good, they have variety of books and the silence is maintained. Classrooms need to be modified.

Infrastructure of my college is so good. Hostel for boys and girls is available separately for the college students living in different cities. Sport ground is also there for different events to be conducted in the college.
