Jaya College of Engineering and Technology (JCET) started its journey in the year 2000, and it’s an affiliated college situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Located across a large area of 25.35 acres, JCET has a plethora of engineering and management courses. The institute has got the accreditation from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), which is known for its dedication to technical education. JCET has an overall student enrolment capacity of 231 and a faculty strength of 52 and offers a good teaching–learning environment. They currently develop and teach 7 programmes across the three levels of the degree regimes, and these include engineering and management sciences.
The teaching facilities of Jaya College of Engineering and Technology include a variety of modern structures that can facilitate its academic programmes. The campus facility includes hostels for the male and female students, enabling those who live in the hostels to live in a comfortable, home-like setup. The central library was set up in 2000 and is situated in 520 sq. meters; it has a rich collection of reference sections, book lists, online databases like McGraw Hill Access Engineering and DELNET, etc. This college has got all the necessary practical demonstration labs; a fully seated, five-hundred-seat capacity auditorium for seminars and conferences. Other facilities that concern student welfare are included at JCET in the form of a cafeteria, health centre, gym, and sports facilities. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled, which means students get easy access to the internet whenever they are in school.
The institute in fact provides 7 different courses, which are the undergraduate engineering courses, the full-time management post-graduation course, and diploma courses. The BE programmes comprise diverse fields, including computer science engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, Mechanical Engineering ,etc. Further, JCET provides an MBA and diplomas in Electronics and Communication Engineering and mechanical engineering. The institute, to allow for quality education, churned class sizes for these courses for the total approved intake to be 231 students per year.
Duly, the admission process of JCET differs in accordance with the programme of study. Undergraduate engineering courses: SharePoint admissions are normally done through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling. The MBA programme accepts the scores of the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) exclusively. The admission in the postgraduate course of JCET acknowledges TANCET scores since it defines a significant tone for the management students. Unfortunately I am not able to lay my hands on detailed information pertaining to scholarships, but the college should be having a few programmes to support deserving students financially. It is for this reason that the institute undertakes to offer quality education and practical training through its courses and training equipment to enable the student to fit well in the market.
