The Jaya College of Engineering and Technology (JCET), Chennai, is an affiliated college, showing dedication to technical education. The Jaya College of Engineering and Technology admission cycle is, in most cases, in sync with the academic year, with almost all courses commencing in the fall semester. For undergraduate engineering courses, admissions are carried out through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling process. Being state-level counselling, it aims to bring about fair and uniform selection processes for engineering aspirants. The eligibility criteria are different for different programmes. For B.E. programmes, candidates must have completed their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as key subjects. For MBA programmes, candidates must have a degree in any discipline.
There may be certain specific subject requirements at the diploma level, depending on the area of study. Entrance exam scores will be accepted within Jaya College of Engineering and Technology for the different programmes being given. The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is an important test for MBA admission. For undergraduate engineering courses, the TNEA counselling system takes into account the candidate's performance in the authorisation and relative appeals.

The college offers 7 courses in 3 degrees.
JCET offers a number of B.E. programmes which include Medical Electronics Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. Following approvals for 30 students, the admission to the MBA programme at JCET is based on the TANCET exam scores.
