Kamla Nehru College of Education for Women, Phagwara Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college provides hostel facilities to the residents of the Kamla Nehru College for Women, Play Road on the campus itself. The hostel has its own mess to provide hygienic and fresh food. A resident warden looks after the hostel. Proper security arrangements are ensured around the clock. Hostel Form along with rules and regulations is available in the office of the Hostel.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The gymnasium has been provided for the benefit of students as well as the staff members. The latest fitness gadgets like treadmills, joggers, weight sets, rowing machines, abdominal boards, power riders, etc., are a part of the gymnasium, wooing all the fitness-savvy youngsters.

The college has a well-equipped Library which serves updated reference books, magazines, journals, and newspapers in different languages. Presently, the number of books in the library is 7779. Some foreign publications have also been added to the library. The college library has books on all teaching subjects along with a large number of general and reference books including educational encyclopedias, dictionaries, yearbooks, and surveys of educational research. Besides, the college subscribes to 6 daily newspapers, 12 educational journals, and other magazines in English, Punjabi, and Hindi for the benefit of students and staff members. The library has a separate reading room for the benefit of bonafide college students and it remains open during vacations as well as after college hours. The library welcomes book lovers to its calm and serene ocean of knowledge and bliss.

The college has also a playground with a 200-meter race track and sufficient material for students to play outdoor games like basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, kho-kho, etc. Special emphasis is given to practicing yoga under the guidance of an expert during the activity period.

The college computer lab has a sufficient number of computers, printers, scanners, CD Roms, CD Writer, and access to the Internet (256 Kbps leased line) for the benefit of students and faculty members.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students. This is the place where the students can find a variety of food and beverages to woo their tongues. The college canteen maintains hygienic decorum and provides ample comfortable space to satisfy their appetite.

The college has a well-ventilated and furnished hall with a seating capacity of 400 students. A beautifully decorated and lighted stage gives a platform to budding talents. The spacious hall is utilized to conduct extension lectures, morning assemblies, and a number of college functions.

The college has a good networking for the alumni association.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students. The laboratory has multiple sets of materials and equipment for science experiments. The students are given the training to perform experiments as well as to develop improvised apparatus for use as teaching aids.

The college has Four clubs namely a) Language Club b) Social Sciences Club c) Sciences Club and d) Youth and Eco Club function in the college. The clubs undertake various activities related to their particular fields like essay writing competitions, handwriting competition, poem recitation, language quiz, vocabulary tests, cultural and heritage programmes, environment day etc. The clubs also present a variety of articles and information on the display boards allocated to each one of them separately.
