About KC Law College, Mumbai
Situated in the centre of Churchgate, Mumbai, since 1955, KC Law College, an affiliated college, has been shaping legal minds for over six decades. One of the most well-known institutions of legal education is KC Law College, Mumbai. It has obtained recognition from the Bar Council of India and has a wide range of courses to offer students aspiring for a law degree. The university is affiliated with Mumbai University. This college is spread over a compact campus of 4.449 acres, providing an intimate learning environment. With a total student enrolment of 665 and a faculty strength of 8, the college gives personal attention and assurance of quality education.
At the level of facilities, there is a host of such facilities that complement the learning processes of the students further in the college. The library of the college is a treasure house of legal knowledge, having around 10,000 books and periodicals. This includes the rare case reporters from the 19th century and a complete collection of All India Reporter, AIR, since the year 1914. For aspiring litigators, KC Law College organises an Annual National Moot Court Competition, which helps in providing practical experience.
The campus is provided with computer labs in order to keep the students abreast of modern legal research techniques. For physical well-being, the sports facilities offered by the college include games like carrom and chess along with a gym. Two canteens, "Butterfly" and "Kool Cafeteria", maintain hygiene in meals and snacks for the students. The health centre is also run and maintained with first-aid facilities in case of emergency situations for the safety of students.
KC Law College has 4 full-time courses catering to undergraduate and postgraduate levels of legal education. The flagship course is the 3-year LLB, commanding an incredible intake capacity of 300 seats. At the postgraduate level, the college offers two specialised LLM programmes: one in Criminal Law and Criminal Administration and the other in Business Law, with an intake of 30 seats each. The total intake of students in all courses is 360, for which the student-teacher ratio is well-balanced and conducive to effective learning.
