About Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences, Madikeri
Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences (KOIMS), Madikeri is a reputed government medical college of Karnataka that was established in 2016. It offers 150 MBBS seats annually and various other courses relating to the medical field. The college offers degrees such as MBBS, MD, and MS.
The Kodagu District Hospital Madikeri has collaborated with the Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences Madikeri Teaching Hospital, and serves the rural population of the city. The college provides highly educated faculty members equipped with all modern technology. It also provides a sufficient number of non-technical staff to provide a self-learning environment for students.
Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Banglore. The admission into the MBBS program offered by the college is strictly based on the entrance examination NEET. Seats for the MBBS course are allotted through the Karnataka Examinations Authority and the Medical Counseling Committee (AIQ), while that of the PG courses is based on merit in the NEET PG exams and allotted by the same authorities. Kodagu District Hospital provides its students with a lot of facilities like hostel accommodation, a cafeteria, an auditorium, well-built labs, sports facilities, and a very good IT infrastructure.
