72 MonthsDoctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Law shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including coursework and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned, offered by Uttaranchal University, Dehradun
Eligibility Criteria
- An applicant possessing any one of the following qualifications shall be eligible to apply for admission to a Ph.D. program of the University.
- A 2-year/4-semester master’s degree or equivalent in the concerned or allied subject with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale, wherever the grading system is followed.
Or - A 1-year/2-semester master’s degree or equivalent in the concerned or allied subject with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale, wherever the grading system is followed after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree Program.
Or - 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the concerned or allied subject with a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale.
- A 2-year/4-semester master’s degree or equivalent in the concerned or allied subject with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale, wherever the grading system is followed.
Admission Details
- All the applicants shall have to appear for Uttaranchal University Entrance Examination (UUEE). The validity of the UUEE shall be for one year. Candidates may be provisionally enrolled if they are selected through the UUEE entrance test, followed by an interview by a sub-committee comprising at least 5 members of the RDC as constituted by the Vice-Chancellor. The registration shall only be confirmed after satisfactory completion of the coursework and approval of the research plan/synopsis on the basis of the presentation given by the candidate before the RDC.
