No college is comparable from the other college, it basically depends upon the need of the student. Still here are some of the points which you can look for in choosing the college :-

Academics : It’s said that UCMS has better academics than us, and it’s true in the sense that they have more rigorous testing schedules, but nobody stops us from studying here either, and there are people here who are obsessed with studies and people who didn’t study all year, so it depends more on your intention and persistence than the college you are in.

Also, due to relaxed testing schedules, here you’ll have much more freedom to study what you feel more inclined towards. For instance, if you are aiming for USMLE you’ll have ample time to give to standard books, and to engage in extra-curriculars for boasting in your CV.

In VMMC you’ll have more free time, it’s upto you whether you utilize it to study, to party, to engage in extracurriculars, sports, or anything else that catches your imagination.

Campus : UCMS’s campus is double the size of VMMC’s, they have a huge ground. Honestly I like it more than VMMC’s, But we have a safer campus where anyone can roam about 24x7 without any qualms about physical safety, owing to the considerable security personnel dispatched throughout the college and hospital.

Location : Our college is sorrounded by Hauz Khas, South Ex, Lajpat Nagar, Sarojini Nagar, Green Park, Saket. CP is just 30 minutes away by metro too. You’ll never be short of places to hang out.

Hostel : UCMS has single rooms! Their hostel is also more spacious. It ached a little to leave those single rooms while leaving UCMS!

But in VMMC we have the freedom to install as many appliances as we desire. So you can find AC’s in every room and of course, you don’t have to pay the bill. Also, you can customize the rooms any way you want! In third year, all of us guys get to shift to New Boys Hostel(NBH- a kind of promised heaven to us), across the road which is overflowing with trees, you have the option of single or twin seater rooms. I’m not sure about UC but we have no concept of timings, for both girls and boys. Boys coming through Delhi Quota will have some difficulty getting hostels though.

Happy hunting!!!!

Hi,

Well your rank and category rank, both are really good and top. I highly think that you will be able to get MD radio diagnosis in Madras medical college through all india quota counseling by MCC for 50% government medical college seats.

I hope my answer helps.

All the best.

Hi,

Well I think that the rank that you have scored is really good and you seem to have a moderate chance of getting a general medicine seat in Madras medical college or Stanley medical college. More benefit would be if you have state domicile of Tamil Nadu cause that way you will be able to get it more easily as the cut off lowers in state quota counseling.

I hope my answer helps.

All the best.

Always proud and blessed to have been in this college

College Infrastructure

Infrastructure was very good in terms of clinical resources and patient inflow.Hostel was not upto the mark in the first year which was later rectified when a new hostel building was opened..College and library had everything we could ask for

My college has given me good clinical exposure

College Infrastructure

The college infrastructure is not upto the mark and it doesn’t have proper campus. The college in general is clean and have decent hygienic conditions. The classrooms are very congested for a strength of 250 students.
