Maharashtra Academy of Naval Education and Training (MANET) established in the year 2001, is a prestigious constituent college located at Rajbaug, Solapur Highway, Loni-Kalbhor, Pune, Maharashtra. The only institute in the country that is specialized in the area of maritime education and training, it conducts two specialized programs: B.Sc Nautical Science and B.Tech Marine Engineering, and has an intake capacity of 120 students each. This academy has a strong faculty of 27 experienced professionals; therefore, quality education is guaranteed in the maritime field. Maharashtra Academy of Naval Education and Training provides a wholesome range of facilities involving academic and personal growth of students. The campus is equipped with uniquely designed dormitories for male and female cadets, furnished with closets, study tables, chairs, and comfortable beds for two cadets—the residential experience mandatory for every cadet preparing them for the life ahead. There is a well-fitted modern gymnasium, with qualified instructors, as the college has taken a principal concern in their physical fitness. Medical The MANET campus has an on-campus medical inspection room with a team of doctors to attend to the medical requirements of the students. The institute is associated with a local hospital for any emergencies. Library MANET has a well-stocked library with a wide range of course-related books. The B.Tech. section has more than 8,000 books, while the Nautical section consists of almost 1,800 books. The library also has vital maritime publications in their collection and more than 17 periodicals and journals to browse through.
This leading institute has two full-time courses to offer: one in their B.Sc Nautical Science program which lasts for three years, and the other, their B.Tech. program in Marine Engineering, which spans four years. Also, these programs have an approved intake of 120 students, making a total intake of 240 seats across the institute. Both courses are fairly specialised and are designed to help students acquire full knowledge in order to build a career in the maritime world.

The admission process to every course and stream at MANET is a comprehensive and ruthless process where candidates who deserve to be are taken ahead for the selection process. Admission: Students on the program being considered for B.Sc Nautical Science are selected on the basis of their PCM marks (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics), performance in the MANET CET (MIT-NAT) entrance exam, and interview. From among these, only those qualifying in the test will be considered for admission based on the 10+2 PCM marks, MANET entrance examination PERA, and performance in the interview. Students for the B. Tech. Marine Engineering program are identified on 10+ grades. Both courses require students to satisfy the relevant medical fitness standards as prescribed by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS).
