The college was established in 2010. MIT Kannur is approved by AICTE and is affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Thiruvananthapuram. The college offers UG and PG courses at multiple specialisations. MIT Kannur UG courses include BE/B.Tech while ME/M.Tech is offered at PG levels. MIT Kannur UG admissions are given on the basis of KEAM exam scores. On the other hand, PG admissions are given on the basis of GATE exam scores.
