48 MonthsBachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Civil Engineering is a four-year full-time undergraduate program recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and offered by the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Thiruvananthapuram.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates for admission to the B Tech degree courses shall be required to have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or any other examination accepted by the university as equivalent thereto, with conditions as prescribed by the Kerala State Government rules. They have to qualify for the State level Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examination or State level/National level Entrance examination approved by the Government as equivalent. They shall also satisfy the conditions regarding age and physical fitness as may be prescribed by the Kannur University.
- A candidate who has a diploma in engineering awarded by the State Board of Technical Education or an examination recognized equivalent thereto by the State Board of Technical Education after undergoing an institutional course of 3 years, securing a minimum of 50% marks in the final Diploma examination shall be eligible to be admitted to the first year B.Tech program, if he/she has qualified the Entrance examination conducted by the State Entrance examination or State level/National level Entrance examination approved by the Govt. as equivalent.
- Diploma holders with 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ST) are also eligible for admission to the 3rd semester (Regular Full-time batch) B.Tech (Engineering) Degree course under the lateral entry scheme (LES) provided they qualify for the Entrance Examination conducted for the Lateral entry scheme by the State Government. Candidates admitted under the lateral entry scheme have to successfully complete the requisite deficiency/remedial papers as prescribed by the Kannur University before registering for the VIIIth semester examination.
