    Dear Pranava, As per the general eligibility criteria of JOSAA counselling you are eligible for that, you can be filling josaa counselling because you have all required eligibility criteria. As per the norms candidate must hai 75% percentage in 12th for general candidate.

    Sorry to say but with this 1.7lakh rank in JEE main you do not have any chance of getting any govt college through JOSAA counselling.

    Sorry to say that you cannot apply for JoSAA 2019. This is much like of getting onto a dissimilar thing ank arguing to be similar. Each year the difficulty level of JEE exam, number of candidates appearing etc. changes, so it is not fare to participate in this year's

    According to your situation ; you can not do anything now because if your category will change in advanced than whole results will change and there will be change in the qualifying students from the new results.

    You should check in josaa website for opening and closing rank of lower college .

    Since you have a low score in JEE Mains, you can't get any college through josaa counselling. Moreover, cs,ec,ee are the most sought after branches in India so they obviously have higher cutoffs. You can expect to get some govt colleges and the bottom-most NITs in branches like
