The Master in Performing Arts M.P.A (Dance) program in Bharata Natyam is a two year intensive program.It offers the scope to hone the performative, teaching and research skills and fosters an independent thinking.It is a unique time of self-discovery, self-learning and understanding the larger canvas of the place of art in life, society and the world.
The student gains the confidence and consolidates the learning process of the degree program to a fine skill. Here the art of communication in all its aspects plays a key role to deliver and present the art-form as a performance, educational tool and understanding its historical trajectory and onward movement in a global context.
The two year program has the important focus on research component in the second year. And the course on Research Methodology forms an important part of this program. The research learning and dissertation helps foster and develop independent thinking and creative skills. It is also a consolidation of the practical learning outcomes.
The student has the option to exit at the end of first year with a Post graduate diploma.
In practical aspects the student will be encouraged to delve into the art of choreography as well both traditional and contemporary. There will be interactive sessions with Guest experts from major and allied disciplines.
