24 MonthsAt the PG level, Maya Somaiya School of Music and Performing Arts provides a 2 years Master of Performing Arts- Swar Vadya course to the students. To get admission to this course, aspiring students " Candidate must pass the 3-year BPA Music exam or its equivalent from with a minimum of 45% aggregate in any subject by the UGC recognised institute. Minimum five years of certified Music Education. An online / offline audition test will be conducted as part of the admission process." This program provides the advanced ideas and concepts of Music (Swar Vadya). Through this program students will get knowledge about Indian Classical music, History of Indian Music, origin and development of Gharana tradition, advanced ragas. Students study aesthetics of raga and of Hindustani Classical Music.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria: Candidates seeking admission to the Master of Performing Arts degree in Hindustani Classical Vocal/Instrumental (Harmonium/Shehnai/Flute) and Percussion Music (Tabla) Must have passed 3 years BPA(Music) exam or its equivalent examination with 45% or more marks in the aggregate.
OR
An undergraduate degree in any subject recognized by the UGC, and from any university/institute/centre recognized by the UGC and must have passed Music for not less than five years in a recognised institution.
OR
An undergraduate degree in any subject recognized by the UGC, and from any university/institute/centre recognized by the UGC and Learnt Music for not less than five years from a well-known teacher/guru. Such candidates will be required to submit a certificate issued by the institution/teacher/guru, as the case may be to this effect.

The final selection will be made based on performance in the audition test."
Admission Details
Step 1: The students should fill the pre-admission form which is available on the college admission portal.
Step 2: Submission of 200/- for UG and 500/- for PG (non-refundable in all cases) form fees through the payment gateway.
Step 3: Audition test
Step 4: Admission will be offered based on the merit and availability of seats taken together. The candidate will be communicated via email about his/her offered seat or waitlisted number.
