Motilal Nehru College, New Delhi was established in the year 1964. The institute was formerly known as Government Degree College, Moti Bagh, New Delhi. In the year 1966, the college was renamed to Hastinapur College when it came under the administrative control of a government nominated autonomous Governing Body and then in the year 1977 the college was renamed to Motilal Nehru College, New Delhi. Earlier the college was functioning within the premises of a government school building at Moti Bagh, New Delhi and the later on in the year 1989 it shifted to its present campus. Motilal Nehru College is recognised as a premier institute of higher education in the southern zone of Delhi.

Motilal Nehru College offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses to the students. Delhi University will release a cut off list based on the marks secured in class 12th or equivalent qualifying examination for each college and its courses separately.
The highest marks secured in a total of four subjects (best four) will be calculated.
