About Nalanda Institute of Technology, Chandaka
Nalanda Institute of Technology (NIT) was set up in the year 2006 at Chandaka, Bhubaneswar, Odisha is one of the prestigious institute. This college affiliated by AICTE comprised of 32-acre campus provides a vast fleet of engineering and management courses. Student intake capacity of the university is 1,618 and faculty members are 138 so it has a good environment for academic in NIT Chandaka. Currently it has eleven distinctive courses under four degree programmes and focuses on disciplines of engineering as well as management. It therefore provides equal opportunity to both sexes as evidenced by male students of 1631 and female students of 240.
Nalanda Institute of Technology offers all round requisite amenities that add spice to the whole learning process. There is boys hostel and girl’s hostel on the campus and these hostels are well furnished and Wi-Fi enabled. The boys’ hostel can accommodation more than 400 students, the girls’ hostels are situated in the city. Students health is taken care of at NIT Chandaka through availability of 24 hour medical facilities in case of emergencies. The library play a central role where books, through both national and international journals, magazines, as well as newspapers in excess of 30,000 and thousands respectively exist. It also provides e–Library services in order to facilitate research of different types. NIT Chandaka provides a range of academic programmes interesting to students with various preferences. Through the institute, there are 11 courses on offer currently that include undergraduate and post graduate programmes. Bachelor programmes includes B.Tech programmes in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science and Technology. At postgraduate level, it provides M.Tech specialisation in Thermal Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering Although, the MBA specialisations includes Finance Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing Management and many more. In addition to this, NIT Chandaka has the MCA programme through which student’s masters their Computer Application knowledge. The total approved intake for all courses is 936 intake where as the Computer science & engineering (B.Tech) has a highest intake of 150.
The admission procedures in Nit Chandaka are consequently likewise different relying on the course. B.Tech courses take an entry requirement of those students who pass the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Main) that is conducted by the CBSE. For admission under state or concession quota, aspiring MBA students are sitting for the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE). Degree wise Admission Process
B.Tech: The direct admission procedure into the B.Tech Programs of NIT Chandaka comprises the following disciplines: Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science and Technology. Admission to these courses primarily relies on JEE Main qualification. Presently, the total intakes considering all branches of B. Tech programs is 600.
MCA: For the MCA program, students will also be required to provide valid scores in the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE). The approved count for the MCA program is 180 seats.
MBA: There are MBA specializations offered at NIT Chandaka, which include Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, and Finance Management. Valid OJEE MBA scores will be the basis for MBA program admissions. The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Board (OJEEB) would conduct the OJEE of MBA admissions. Each MBA specialization has been approved for an intake of 120 seats.
M.Tech: The two disciplines offered for M.Tech by the institute are Thermal Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering. Admissions are conducted mainly through GATE. Admission tests are in the online mode for candidates who are not GATE but will be exempted from it for GATE-qualified candidates. Each M.Tech program accepts 18 students.
