Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Earth and Planetary Sciences is an offered Full-time three/six-year Doctoral program and it is offered by the Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai. The ph.D. the program shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work, and a maximum of six years. Extension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the individual Institution concerned offered by Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai. 


Eligibility Criteria

The Candidate 55% or equivalent GPA in M.Sc./M.Tech/M.E in Physics/ Astronomy and Astrophysics/Space Science/Geology/ Applied Geology/Geoscience/Geological Sciences/ Geophysics/ Earth Science(s)/Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences/ Chemistry/ Engineering Physics/ Electrical/ Electronics/Mechanical/Civil/ Computer engineering/Data Science. Candidates with a minimum 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a 4 year / 8 semester Bachelor’s degree science program with physics/chemistry/geology as one of the subjects or in a 4 year B.E/B.Tech degree program are also eligible to apply for the program.
