Priyaanka Sarkar Student Expert 20th Dec, 2019

NISER is a National Institute of Science Education and Reserach. It offers Integrated courses. NEST is the entrance examination for admission to NISER. To be eligible for NEST, you should have completed your 10+2 from any recognised board with a minimum aggregate of 60%. It is 60% in General Category and 55% for Reserved Categories. And you should have studied your 12th in regular science stream with a combination of any 3 subjects among Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. So even if you do not have Mathematics in your 12th, even if you have Physics, Chemistry and Biology, you are good to go.

in NISER after completiting their the study course can we called as a scientist and we can be placed as a scientist in ISRO, NASA,IIST

Aditi Amrendra Student Expert 19th Dec, 2019
Hello,

You can't be called a scentieat after compeltion of any course from NISER, you can be called as researcher and that too if you do Ph.D from there and you can possibly get a jobs in BARC afterwards but not in ISRO,NASA etc.Getting jobs in ISRO,NASA etc require you to crack exams which they conduct or you can apply when they will offer vacancy. What job you may get depends on factors like what course you have studied in your undergraduate or master's.

I hope this helps.

What after NISER .

Pankhuri Kumari 23rd Nov, 2019

Dear student

NISER is an autonomous institute which provides various courses such as bsc+msc, msc+ PhD , PhD in various fields such as mathematics, biological, earth sciences, computer science etc., This is a research  focussed institute. There are various job options available for NISER passouts.

1. If you have a good CGPA such as 7.5 and above in physics, chemistry, biology you can get a direct entry in BARC interview.

2. PhDs- if you are interested in research work then after integrated MSc you can do PhD on a subject of your choice. For this you must get good rank in PhD exams in India such as NET. Your rank will decide whether you get the subject of your choice or not. For PhD abroad, you have to clear certain language test and subject test as well. Most students go for PhD after NISER.

3. You can apply to patent offices and journal publishers.

4. Some students also go for IAS.

5. You can also become an entrepreneur.

The options are challenging but you need to take challenges in life to succeed.

All the best.
