Nagpur's NKP-Salve Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center with Lata Mangeshkar Hospital and is one of the oldest and most desirable medical colleges. The admission pathway is purely on merit and selectivity.  The admission is conducted through various entrance examinations at the national level, aiming at selecting the brightest and most deserving candidates. The Institute has undergraduate admission based on NEET -UG scores. NEET-UG is tentatively conducted every year, and counselling will continue till the month of December.

The admission for postgraduate MD and MS courses will depend on the scores achieved in NEET-PG. The minimum eligibility for admission to undergraduate courses requires the completion of 10+2 studies from any recognized board, with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. In most cases, a mark requirement of at least 50 percent in the qualifying examination is required. Application procedures at NKP Salve Institute differ depending upon the course:

For MBBS:

1. Obtain an NEET UG exam qualification.

For MD/MS Programs:

Degree-wise Admission Procedures

MBBS: The institute admits 200 students in the MBBS course, on the basis of NEET UG result and counselling of candidates. Students must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

MD: There are 82 available seats for the MD course with the 11 specializations. The basis for admission is NEET PG. Some Among the specializations are:

1. MD Anatomy (3 seats),
2. MD Anaesthesiology (12 seats),
3. MD General Medicine (18 seats),
4. MD Paediatrics (10 seats),
5. MD Pathology (12 seats). 

MS: For the MS Programme, the institution offers 45 vacancies advanced with 5 specializations where the admission is based on NEET PG. Specializations include:
