North Malabar Institute of Technology (NMIT), the affiliated college that was opened in 2012, is established in Kasaragod, Kerala. NMIT of has its relatively large campus size of 10.17 acres and provides engineering programmes for the interested students. The institute caters about 265 students in total enrolled and has a team of a 44 qualified faculty members. NMIT offers five B.Tech programmes in different specialisation of engineering to give an opportunity to the different interested students in the area of technology and innovation. Modern facilities and infrastructures and an emphasis on the style of coaching reflects the institutes organisational culture towards quality education.
NMIT put under its disposal a range of facilities that aim in improving students’ learning and personal backgrounds. All the systems in the institute had Intel Core I3 and there was high internet connection. They had fixed 160 systems in total. To support physical fitness and recreation the institute has a gym and different types of sports amenities for students. The campus also contain health centre with first aid asymptote, canteen, clinic and an auditorium for conducting seminars, and meets. Since the college understands the difficulties that many of its students go through in getting to the college, they have made available transport facilities which connect the college from the nearby towns and cities like Payyanur, Nileshwar, Kanhangad, and Kasaragod. This is an Affiliated College of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Thiruvananthapuram.
North Malabar Institute of Technology has a total of five B.Tech full-time courses in which the students have to study for four years. These programmes include Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Civil Engineering. All courses are available in full-time – providing students with strong theoretical background and hands-on experience in their subject areas.
North Malabar Institute of Technology central admission process is mainly centralised and focused on entrance examination. For government quota, admissions qualification in KEAM is mandatory which means that a formal qualification in the Kerala Engineering Architecture & Medical Examination is required. Management quotas are available to which the students who wish to take admission can write either KEAM or the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE MAIN).
