About NTR College of Veterinary Science, Gannavaram

NTR College of Veterinary Science, Gannavaram, was established in the year 1998. Located in Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, this is one of the reputed constituent colleges. The institution is set over an area of 108 acres and imparts courses in veterinary education and research. The college offers 19 courses across 3 degrees with a total of 506 enrolments. It has a faculty strength of 71 dedicated professionals to maintain an excellent student-faculty ratio that allows the students to get personalised attention and quality education. Being co-educational, it provides gender diversity in the veterinary sciences. 

Full-time programmes are conducted at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. The college has modern facilities to cater to the requirements of its academic pursuits. The library has a huge stock of over 14,337 books, including reference books, and is adding to its stock at the rate of about 500 new books every year. Well-equipped departmental laboratories, necessary for practical learning in veterinary sciences, are provided to the students. 

Sports facilities, a gym, and a canteen are available on the campus to enable students to grow up in a healthy environment. There is an IT infrastructure meant for assistance in digital learning and separate hostels for boys and girls. Students' welfare is monitored through a health centre with first-aid facilities, and there is also a guest house that accommodates visiting faculty and family members of students. 

Courses NTR College of Veterinary Science has a wide array of courses, from Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry to various M.V.Sc. specialisations and Ph.D.s in Animal Sciences. B.V.Sc. & A.H. is the flagship course with an annual enrolment of 75 students. The postgraduate programmes cover areas like animal genetics and breeding, livestock products technology, poultry science, and different veterinary specialities. All courses are full-time and aimed at providing in-depth knowledge and practical skills necessary for a successful career in veterinary science and animal husbandry.

The admission process to the programmes offered by NTR College of Veterinary Science is different at all levels. In the B.V.Sc. & A.H. programme, 85% of the seats will be filled on a state quota basis according to their rankings in AP EAMCET; there is a provision of a 25% reservation for applicants coming from farming families. Fifteen percent will be allotted by the Veterinary Council of India. Postgraduate admissions are mainly open to Andhra Pradesh residents; allotment of seats is based on the entrance examination conducted by Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University.

The NTR College of Veterinary Science provides M.V.Sc (Master of Veterinary Science) course. The college has 16 specialisations for M.V.Sc students, and the total fee is Rs. 52,230. The process includes:

  • Andhra Pradesh residents alone, except for the ICAR quota.
  • There are 30% extra seats for the ICAR quota for outsiders to apply.

good evening Sir. My daughter neet marks:425, category SC, state: Andhra Pradesh, AU, non farmer quota, AP EAPCET Rank:3796, TS EAMCET Rank:1197. Is their any chance to get BVSC free seat in AP/TS ??

Hello Aspirant

According to the marks and category, you can get a seat in BVSC this year through NEET, I would say attend the counseling process sincerely for that.

Now if you want to get admission through AP EAPCET which is a state-level examination conducted for admission to various courses of Engineering, Medical, Agriculture, Veterinary, etc. According to the previous year, the marks required for you to get into veterinary colleges are  40 for bc and 35 marks for both SC and ST.

At 3796 rank and SC category, I guess you can get a seat in BVSC in Andhra Pradesh.

TS EAMCET is also a state-level exam whose cut-off varies year to year and secures 33% reservations for female candidates. The qualifying mark is 40 out of 160. Being an SC candidate and having a rank of 1197 is good enough to get into P.V. Narsimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University.

The Factors determining the AIPVT Cut Off 2021are as follows :-

The minimum marks in NEET to get into a Veterinary College are 350+ for General category. However you have not specified the state you belong as it varies state to state.
In general it ranges between 300450. If you are applying for an all India quota (15%) then it may increase upto 400 for General category student.
