Parijat College Indore started its journey in year 2008 and is an affiliated college which is located at the recognised city of Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Being located in a relatively small land area of 1.49847 acres, this institution has found its place in the world of education. Affiliated to the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the college runs B. Ed., M. Ed., B.P. Ed., and M.P. Education for those who aspire to be teachers. At present, the college caters to 155 students, and has a total of 24 faculty members this is efficient number that promotes increased focus and learning.

The college has provided various infrastructure facilities some of which are intended to complement the learning process of the students. The strongest column of the academics is the library that contains varied and improved collection of 5400 books including about 200 books added every month so as to meet modern requirements of education. As for the practical experience, the college has departmental laboratories where students are able to implement the received knowledge into practice. The campus also has a canteen where the students and staff can sit and chew breakfast, lunch and other snacks.  The college caters for the health concerns of the college community through first aid facility and the physical selves through a gym. To encourage co-curriculum activities and functions, the Parijat College has a seminar and cultural hall. In as much as the college has embraced the modern education, it has well developed it systems by offering students best technology. Schools improve the education system of any country by offering balanced facility for both physical trainings and academics. For visitors there exists a guest house and also what is called the waiting room in respect of the college’s hospitality. Parijat College provides a comprehensive course structure that comprises of two main courses in the area of study. The B.Ed programme which is a two-year full time professional course has an approved intake capacity of one hundred students. Accompanying this is the Diploma in Education (D.Ed) which is also a two-year full-time programme for 50 students. The programmes described here are meant to help students succeed as teachers and educational managers. By accommodating 150, total student intake of both the courses is in correlation with the current enrollment of the college and it seems the college is using all the available seats mostly.

Entry to Parijat College and more specifically, the B.Ed programme, is done on the basis of merit, as will be explained in the subsequent section, bearing in mind the rules set by the state government, the UT administration, and the university to which the college is affiliated.
