    About Rajas Dental College and Hospital, Kavalkinaru

    Rajas Dental College and Hospital Kavalkinaru (RDCAHK) is a renowned dental college that started in 1987. This affiliated college is in the city of Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu. The college occupies a land space of 30 acres and has been awarded accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Recognised by the Dental Council of India (DCI), RDCAHK has a total student capacity of 494 and faculty with 145 members. 

    The college has many facilities to meet the students’ needs as well as to enhance students’ achievement and development. This keeps the library well stocked with dental books, magazines, and an internet section to access other resources on the internet. Sophisticated instruments and machines are installed in state-of-the-art laboratories facilitated for the enriched practical training for the students under the supervision of qualified faculties and technocrats. Accommodation We have separate hostels for boys and girls with all amenities within the hostel and the hostels also include well-managed mess facilities. The campus also has a complete medical centre and a pharmacy to cater for students’ health needs. Recreational services incorporate numerous game facilities, an assembly hall, and a large number of students cafeteria, which often students use as a lounge area.

    Currently, RDCAHK provides a total of 8 courses, of which students can pursue an undergraduate and postgraduate programme. The premier five-and-a-half-year undergraduate program is the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program, which has a total intake capacity of 100. In its postgraduate programme, the college has the following specialisations of Master of Dental Surgery (M.D.S), prosthetics and crown and bridge, conservative dentistry, endodontics, periodontology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics, oral and maxillofacial pathology and microbiology, and oral medicine and radiology.

    The entry requirement to RDCAHK depends on national entrance tests for higher education institutions. The BDS programme for admissions is regulated by the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) conducted by the National Board of Examinations. Like PG admissions, the NEET-MDS governs admissions to MDS programmes as well, which has replaced the MDS common entrance test previously existing in the country.

    Hey aspirant,

    Last year's minimum cut off of MDS for OBC category candidates was 40 % (percentile) and 140/960 ( cut off score ).

    The cut offs are not separately made for endodontics and prosthodontics, rather for overall MDS the cut offs  are made.
