Rangia College is one of the best colleges which came into existence in the year 1963 itself in the place Rangia, Assam. This affiliated college was spread across an area of 14.28 acres of land and has been catering to the academic needs of the region for more than six decades. Rangia College is one of the most renowned colleges which is affiliated with the National Assessment and Accreditation Council that provides various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. There are 2,623 students, 75 faculty members, and 39 courses in 14 degree programmes in the college. The college provides an environment that is not only fit for learning but also for growth. It consists of specialisations in arts, science, commerce, and vocational studies.

Rangia College caters to the all-round educational needs of students. Modern facilities are available on the campus to support the academic activities as well as the extracurricular activities. The college library, being the lifeblood of the college since its inception, has now been computerised and offers e-resources of the UGC-INFLIBNET N-List Programme/National Digital Library of India to both students and faculty doing research in the institution. The college provides a gym to the enthusiasts of sports. Laboratory facilities are also available for practical learning.

The courses at the Rangia College are well categorised. 39 full-time undergraduate and postgraduate courses are taken care of by the institution. The college provides bachelor's degrees both in arts (BA), science (B.Sc Hons) and commerce (B.Com) besides specialised programmes like Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports (BPES). The university has designed various postgraduate master's programmes comprising the subjects Arabic, Assamese, Bodo, Economics, Education, English, and Sanskrit.

The admission policy of the institute is somewhat liberal and merit-based. Different dates may be subject to an exact year of admission, and this usually starts mostly after the declaration of the 10 + 2 results.
