Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) is a two-year full-time undergraduate course approved by National Council for Teachers Education (NCTE) and offered by Gauhati University, Guwahati.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have passed a Bachelor's Degree (e.g., BA, BSc, BCom) and/or Master's Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Humanities from Gauhati University or any other recognized university.
Minimum Percentage: Usually requires at least 50% marks in aggregate either in the Bachelor's Degree or the Master's Degree (Relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates may apply as per government rules).
Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology (B.E./B.Tech) with specialization in Science and Mathematics might be eligible, often requiring a higher minimum percentage (e.g., 55%).
Candidates appearing in the final year/semester examination of their qualifying degree may also be allowed to apply provisionally, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria upon result declaration before admission.
Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Science/ Social Science/ Humanities/ Commerce with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories)

Admission Details

Admission Shall be Made on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or in the entrance examination or any other selection process as per the policy of the state government/U.T. Administration and the university.
