NIT Rourkela has one of the largest infrastructure of all engineering colleges in India spreading over 1200 acres.The facilities in NIT Rourkela are pretty good. There is a basketball court, gym for girls and boys both. In 1st year we shall have have to share our room with 2 other roomies which is pretty good for our interactions.Definitely yes,the living spaces are clean and the food is hygienic too.

I am in the Minning department of NIT Rourkela. Mining industry is very essential part of our industry since it includes extraction of valuable minerals from earth. this industry supports other jobs too. This is the reason why i took this branch.Since I am a fresher I cant say much about the curriculum and the recent developments in this field in our Institute but as i said it definitely makes you job-ready.Placements in TATA, Coal India,and many other too.

This institute is a very good option for placements too. Last year a student from Metallurgy department got placed in one of the finest IT companies ,i.e. Microsoft. Being a top notch NIT , Placement is awesome for almost every technical branch. CSE students enjoy the cream of the placement as 100% students got placed in CSE within 4 months of placement session average package around 12-15 LPA . ECE , Mechanical and electrical also have almost 100% placement record with avg kage around 10-11 lpa. Other branch like civil, mining , chemical and metallurgy have almost 98% placement record with avg package 7-8 lpa.

Everything is good, and the infrastructure is good. Classrooms were not enough here for each section, and the students had to rush to another class to find chairs. Washrooms are not neat and clean and sweepers do not want to do their job properly. They keep it closed most of the time.

The course lacks practical knowledge. There should be more practical subjects that could make you industry-ready. The course curriculum is good. I think they should make some changes to the curriculum of the MBA. The teachers are good. They teach well, but they cut attendance for everything.

Around 75% of students are placed. The highest salary package offered is 12 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 3.5 LPA. The average salary package offered is 6LPA. Yes ,Nitr is one of the premium institute and we have all the infrastructure including labs and all on our college campus, we have grounds and courts for every type of games with all type of faculty advisor guiding us properly . we have courts for basketball ,handball and also separate fields for cricket football ,, kho kho kabbbadi is also praised in our college . We have very good infrastructure of hostels and mess with a good quality of food. Hygene is maintained very seriously in our mess.

The academics is amazing BUT, I have given four stars because of the subjects which are taught in the first year which mostly have NOTHING to do with your chosen course(like BIO,ED,ESE etc.). This is the worst thing for me in NITR. Apart from this, the academics is toooo good. You get excellent faculty, well equipped labs, ambitious peer group amazing research facilities and many more.

As far as I have explored till now, the placement scenario is quite satisfying for my course. The highest package in 2020 was about 22 lpa. And the average being about 8.5 lpa. Also the placement stats are improving appreciably with each passing year, so you can have faith in the institute that it is going to create amazing job opportunities for you.
