Salesian College, Sonada: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Salesian College began operations in Shillong in 1933 before moving to Sonada in 1938. It is covered under the UGC Act of 1956 Section 2(f) and Section 12(B). Over 2200 students attend Salesian College (SC), a North Bengal University (NBU)-an affiliated, minority Catholic educational school managed by Salesians of Don Bosco in Kolkata Province. Salesian College is a government-recognized college. Salesian College was granted affiliation to Calcutta University in 1935 for I.A., in 1948 for the BA Course in English, History, and Latin, and in 1950 for Economics. As one of the original institutions of NBU, its affiliation was transferred from Calcutta University in 1962. Following the introduction of Education and Philosophy as B.A. disciplines, Salesian College acquired affiliation for the BA Honours Course in English and History in 1970 and 1979, respectively. Salesian College courses include B.Sc.(Hons)., B.A(Hons), B.Com.(Hons) and others at the UG Level. Aspirants are given ample of Salesian College facilities at the campus.

And Salesian College course M.A with specialisations at PG Level. It acquired affiliation for a course in education honours in 2006. In 2002, the college established a department of Computer Skills, which provides the DIT and ADIT courses. And Salesian College Admission into the courses is based on the entrance exam conducted by the college. Eligible students can avail the benefits of Salesian College placement opportunities.
