Sengamala Thayaar Educational Trust Women's College, Thiruvarur was established by Sengamala Thayaar Educational Trust in the year 1994 in order to provide education to girls. The institute is also known as STET Women’s College. The institution is named after Sri Sengamala Thayaar, the Divine Consort of Sri Rajagopalaswamy. STET Women's College is affiliated to Bharathidasan University. The college is recognised by the University Grants Commission and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, New Delhi. The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes to the students.

STET Women’s College is located at Sundarakkottai, Mannargudi, Thiruvarur in Tamil Nadu. Mannargudi Railway Station is around 2 km away from the institute.  Tiruchirappalli International Airport is approximately 96 km away from the institute and Vaithieya Salai Bus Station is 1 km away from the institution. Candidates can hire a taxi or take an auto-rickshaw to reach the institution.

• Youth Red Cross:  The vision of the Youth Red Cross is to become a leading humanitarian organization serving vulnerable people. The members of the club regularly take part in the various events and promote humanitarian services in society.

• Fine Arts Association: This Club of STET Women’s College aims to promote the culture of fine arts in the institute. It conducts practice sessions, exhibitions, workshops, lectures to spread the knowledge of fine arts amongst the students.
