Sherwood College of Engineering Research and Technology was established in the year 2007 as an affiliated college based in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh. Sprawling over 20 acres, SCERT offers many engineering programmes to budding technologists. Its faculty consists of 77 members dedicated to promoting the next line of engineers. SCERT offers a co-educational environment, open to both male and female students. Programmes offered include several B.Tech courses and diploma courses in various engineering disciplines catering to different interests in the field of engineering.

The institute boasts comprehensive facilities to enhance the learning experience. It has well-equipped laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment in the departments of electronics, mechanical, and computer sciences. The intellectual hub is a computerised library that stocks over 13,934 volumes and 2,695 titles. Several journals, national and international, are also available here. The college has sporty facilities for the physical health of students, such as table tennis, badminton, basketball, and volleyball courts. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled, ensuring perfect internet connectivity. It also provides separate hostels for boys and girls with all modern amenities and a scholarly atmosphere for overall development. The present B.Tech programmes offered are four in number: Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The other courses provided by SCERT are B.Tech in Civil Engineering and diploma courses in Civil and Mechanical Engineering. The B.Tech programmes add up to an intake of 360 seats, out of which Computer Science and Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering have the highest intakes of 90 each. This wide array of programmes under one umbrella enables a student to choose a specialisation that interests and suits their career goals.

The admission procedure of SCERT is guided by the rules framed by the Academic Council of AKTU, Lucknow.
