Shikshan Mandal Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Karad Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college ladies' hostel of the college was constructed with funding from UGC under XI Plan. It was inaugurated in August 2011 by the then Vice-Chancellor, Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Dr N. J. Pawar. The college received a grant of Rs. 80 lacs (eighty lacs only) from the UGC for the purpose. The hostel is well equipped with all amenities, including a solar water heater, water purifier, etc. The hostel can house up to sixty-five (65) students. There is a local managing committee to look after the affairs of the hostel.

The college has a Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff. College classrooms are equipped with ‘Interactive Digital Boards’ as well as Wi-Fi Internet connectivity.

The college has a well-equipped, fully computerized library. The Library is enriched with a good collection of books, journals, bound volumes & CDs. During the last 03 decades, the collection has been systematically developed, covering all branches of knowledge. The reading material is acquired by way of donations and purchased from UGC funds and college funds. The library is using the in-house ‘Library System’ software. Library automation was completed in 2014. 

The college has a department-based laboratory facility for the students. Five Laboratories- (Food Science and Textile Science & Clothing ( Home Science), Geography-UG, PG, Computer lab, and Geography M. Phil & Ph. D Research lab.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The college has an excellent IT infrastructure for students. Computer lab equipped with 20 computers, internet and a printer facility

The college has a Well-Equipped Gym facility for the students.

The college has sports facilities for all students.

The College has a two-wheeler and four-wheeler parking facility for all the Students and Staff.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students.

The college has a health centre with a first aid facility for the students. Sick/health Care Room with bed, Stretcher, wheelchair, First-aid Box.

The college has a convenience store facility for students. (like photocopying facility & stationery etc.)Reprographic facility- two Xerox machines.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The college has guest house/waiting room facilities for visiting faculty and student family members.

The college has an Extracurricular activities facility for all students.

The college also provides Training and Placement opportunities for all the students.
