Sibar Institute of Dental Sciences is one of the first institutions in dental education, established in 2001 at Takkellapadu, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. The affiliated college for more than two decades has been shaping the future of dental health care and approved by the DCI. The campus covers 9.25 acres conducive to learning and research in dentistry. The institute enjoys a very congenial student-teacher ratio with an enrolment of students of as many as 520 and faculty strength of 127, thus propitiating personal attention and quality education.
Sibar Institute of Dental Sciences claims to boast facilities that are fully equipped and state-of-the-art, which help to foster the overall growth of a child. Separate hostels for boys and girls, with spacious rooms, attached toilets, study rooms, and common rooms with TVs and gymnasiums, are available. It has a well-equipped and properly managed college library, which is a treasure house of knowledge with experienced librarians; it has the facility for e-journal access and high-speed internet connectivity. SIDS provides health centres with first-aid facilities and an out-and-out prepared auditorium to host events and seminars for the aspiring dental professionals. It also has many open grounds on the campus for sports and extracurricular activities, thereby developing a balanced approach toward education and personal development.
The institute provides all kinds of dental programmes: 17 courses at three degree levels. This encompasses the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), a multitude of specialisations at the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) level, and doctoral programmes. The undergraduate institutional creep of this flagship programme admits 100 students annually at the BDS level, while MDS programmes – from prosthodontics and periodontology to paediatric dentistry – have an intake of 5-6 students each. SIDS has further also introduced PhD courses in some of the dental specialities. This further vindicates its commitment towards advanced research work and academic excellence.

I had a good college life with many ups and downs

My college had good infrastructure. It is surrounded by farms. Even though it doesn’t have particular ground for outdoor games it has good hospital with lot of facilities . They also have very professional staff

Our college had all the necessary facilties in terms of infrastructure and dental chairs. The facilities in our laboratories was excellent for us in terms of dental practice .We had a indoor sports court for badminton and TT now they have improve i heard.However there is no Wifi facility in hostels.The mess food is very tasty and homely.
