Smt Radhadevi Goenka College for Women, Akola Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has a well-stocked library containing more than 35000 books, Journals & Periodicals, and a fully-trained staff to assist the students/teachers with their requirements. Now we have fully computerized the entire library so that all books/journals, etc. are properly cataloged to make them easily accessible and smooth process of issue & return. Enough reading room space is provided for self-study, reference, etc., for students & staff. All current topics, competitive exams journals, periodicals, newspapers/magazines of interest, self-improvement books, etc., apart from the regular course material, will be made available. Target-to makes the library the best in the region and a one-stop reference point. A computerized OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) facility is available for Students to search books online using different criteria.

The college has sports facilities for all students. Sports play a pivotal role in shaping one’s personality and maintaining good health. We’ve specially developed a sports environment that matches high standards and gives a true experience to all our students. All of which are provided to them on the campus.

The college has an excellent IT Infrastructure for the students. Computers have become an integral part of employment and even personal lives. To provide computer literacy to all students, a special program has been devised. A state-of-the-art, fully equipped computer lab with 60 + computers and a wi-fi internet facility with 10 MBPS speed is available.

The college has a canteen facility for staff and students. The objective of the Canteen and meal service is to protect by reducing the risk of food-borne illness, with proper sanitary conditions, and preventing adulterated food. From the very beginning of the College in 2016, the College Canteen has been functioning efficiently. The canteen is located inside the College. The hostellers and day scholars are provided meals to ensure food safety and quality.

The college has a department-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The College provides separate hostel facilities for girls with 64 rooms and has all necessary facilities for boarding and other recreational activities, to support goodwill, sociability, and to play an essential role in promoting community living among them.

The college has a Wi-Fi facility for the students and staff.

The college has a Training and Placement Cell that aims to facilitate the process of placement of students passing out from the college/institute. It helps to provide a platform for the students to use their potential to gain working experience. Actually, it acts as an interface or as a bridge between various companies seeking talented graduates and postgraduates of various disciplines and job seekers. It plays a major role in shaping the career goals of students. Training of students and equipping them with life skills and soft skills has become an important responsibility of the institution. Training and placement cell at RDG would leave and focus on its vision by thinking of the problem of bread and butter of our student, and also their economically independent lives.
