Eligibility Criteria 

Chief Ministers Scholarship Award (CMSA)

The award is given to those who have graduated with the highest marks in various subjects in each university and annual family income of less than 2.5 lakh rupees.

Higher Education Council Scholarship (HECS)

First year degree students with 45% qualifying marks for SC/ST in the previous examination. For others 50% in Science and 45% in other subjects. 

State Merit Scholarship (SMS)

Applicants should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying exam and should be a first year student of UG or PG. Annual income of the parents/guardian from all sources should not exceed Rs. 1 lakh.

Merit Scholarship to the Children of School Teachers (MSCT)

Children of Primary and Secondary School Teachers only are eligible.

Muslim Nadar Girls Scholarship (MNS)

Should be a first year girl student of UG and should belong to Forward of BPL family and Backward Community. Annual income of the parent/guardian should not exceed Rs. 18,000 per annum. 

Blind/PH Scholarship (BPHFC)

Blind/PH/Deaf students studying in UG and PG. Financial support: Fee Charges for Blind students with family annual income below Rs. 2.5 lakhs. Hostel charges for all PH students who are hostellers and whose family annual income is below Rs. 4.50 lakhs. Boarding charges for all PH students who are day scholars and whose family annual income is below Rs. 4.50 lakhs. Can apply as fresh in all academic years.

District Merit Scholarship (DMS) Renewal

Continued from +2 level up to UG level. Should have scored A Plus in all subjects in the SSLC Examination March 2013, conducted by Board of Public Examinations, Kerala State.

Kerala University Merit Scholarship

Meritorious students of UG & PG, who scored not less than 60% marks in the qualifying examination. Students enjoying any other scholarship are not eligible.

Student Aid Fund (SAF) Scholarships from Kerala University Union

Students of UG & P.G. Degree classes whose parents’ annual income does not exceed Rs. 25,0000 per annum.

Research Award (ASPIRE) scholarship for PG/M.Phil/Ph.D programmes

Meritorious students of the University Departments / Colleges under the University of Kerala for pursuing short term internships/projects in institutions other than their parent Colleges/University Departments.

VIDYA SAMUNNATHI Scholarship

The UG & PG students of economically backward forward communities will get educational scholarships and competitive assistance for their studies.

Kerala State Backward Classes Development Corporation (KSBCDC) Scholarship

The economically backward OBC students will get educational scholarships and competitive assistance for their studies. Annual income of the parents/guardian from all sources should not exceed Rs. 1,20,000/-

Welfare Scholarship (Higher Education Grant)

Applicants should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying exam and should be a first year student of UG or PG.

Central Sector Scholarship (CSS)

Applicants should have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination conducted by CBSE and have secured the total aggregate marks (in first five subjects) equal or above the following minimum marks as per the stream opted by the applicant. Science: 418, Commerce: 396, Others: 332 (For all categories: SC/ST/OBC/UR). Annual income of the parents/guardian from all sources should not exceed Rs. 4.50 lakhs.

Post Matric Scholarships for Students with Disabilities (PMSD)

The Scholarships are to provide financial assistance to the parents of students with disabilities for studying in post-matric level. The financial assistance includes scholarship, book grant, escort/reader allowance, etc. Selection of the beneficiaries under these two scholarship schemes is on the basis of merit.

PG Merit Scholarship For University Rank Holders

The rank holders of each university at undergraduate level to pursue their Master’s Degree. All universities/degree awarding institutions would be required to issue rank certificates to the toppers of the university in B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com.

National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST Students

Meritorious ST students to pursue courses at Graduate/Post Graduate level.

PG Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child

Any single girl child, being the only child of her parents, is eligible to apply for the PG scholarship scheme. The scheme is applicable to such a single girl child who has taken admission to the first year master’s degree programmes. The age of the girl student should not exceed 30 years at the time of admission. 

Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme for the wards of RPF/RPSF

Students should belong to the wards of Railway Protection Force, who are studying courses under B.Sc. Bio-Tech(Bachelor of Biotechnology).

Post Matric Financial Assistance for Education of the Wards of Beedi/Cine workers

Either of the parents of the students should be Beedi / Cine worker with at least six months service. This also includes Contract workers also. Total monthly Income of the Worker’s family from all sources should not exceed 10,000 per month.

National Scholarship for PG studies (NSPG)

Students in the PG programme should be below 30 years of age. Purely on an All India merit basis (30% slots will be reserved for women candidates of which single/twin/fraternal girl children are given priority without considering their marks in the UG exam). 

Swami Vivekananda Single Girl Child Fellowship for Research in Social Sciences (UGC, Govt. of India)

Any single girl child of her parents pursuing Ph.D. (age of up to 40 yrs for general category and 45 yrs for SC/ST/OBC category) in Social Sciences

R. Sankar Smaraka Endowment

A Cash Award of Rs. 500/- instituted by Sri. K. Sisupalan, Chartered Engineer, Poonkavanam, Kandachira to the student of our college who stands first in the final year B.Sc. (Mathematics Main) Examination of Kerala University every year.

Merit Award of PTA & Staff Association

Cash award of Rs. 5000, Rs. 4000 & Rs. 3000 for students who secured first, second and third rank respectively in university examinations for U.G. and P.G. programs.

Dr. K.C. Senan Scholarship

Annually given to the BSc. Chemistry student who secures the highest mark in the University examination from among the colleges under the Sree Narayana Trusts in the State. The award is given from the deposit interest of Rs. 5000/- in the Quilon Urban Co- Operative Bank.

Dr. H. S. Venkataraman Memorial Scholarship

Annually given to the MSc. Chemistry student who secures the highest mark in the University examination from among the colleges under the Sree Narayana Trusts in the Kerala University area. The award is given from the deposit interest of Rs. 100000/- in the Quilon Urban Co- Operative Bank.

G. Karunakaran Asan Memorial Scholarship

One scholarship of the value of Rs. 500 to a student of this college or S.N. College for Women, Kollam who secures the highest marks in the B.Sc. Chemistry Degree Examination every year. Instituted by his wife Smt. Rajamma Karunakaran and daughter Mrs. Geetha Balakrishnan and Dr. (Mrs.) Meera Mony.

Gurudeva Brahma Vidya Scholarships

Six scholarships of equal amount not exceeding Rs. 250 are awarded to six students on merit cum poverty. Instituted by Prof. N. Gopidas, retired Prof. and Head of the Sanskrit Department and the teaching staff, Department of Sanskrit S.N. College, Kollam.

Sree Narayana Higher Education Fund

Instituted by Sri. N.Sadasivan, Siva Bhavan, Kayila, Mylode P.O, Kollam who is a former student of this college. Scholarship of Rs. 1000/- to the student of this college who secures the highest marks in B.Sc. Physics. If the highest mark is shared by more than one student the award amount will be equally divided.
