Sri Jagadguru Murugharajendra Arts College for Women, Chitradurga Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College has a well-stocked Library & Information center comprising Text & Reference Books, Journals, General Magazines, news dailies, CDs, Nonbook materials, and Internet sections. The library is operating between 9 am to 6 pm on all weekdays. It works on holidays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. However, timings are extended during examinations on the request of students. We have a unique collection of about 17000 books both text and reference on languages, humanities, computer applications and competitive examinations and about 25 Indian Journals are provided to our users. Sufficient funds are allocated in the library budget for these resources.

The college has an auditorium facility for events and seminars.

The College provides a Canteen facility where necessary care is taken to ensure the serving of quality food prepared in hygienic conditions and the provision of safe drinking water to our students. Separate accommodation is made for teachers and students in the college canteen to cater to their refreshment needs.

The college Wi-Fi facility is provided on the campus for the Internet to be accessible for students and teachers.

The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.

The College has a separate Computer and Internet section wherein about 10 computer terminals are installed. We are providing access to e-journals of INFLIBNET.

The college has a Gym facility for the students.

The college has sports facilities for all students.

The college has a parking space facility for its faculty, staff, and students.

The college has good networking for the alumni association.

The students have been accommodated in a common Women’s Hostel run by S.J.M. Vidyapeetha. They are provided with good residing and boarding facilities constructed with financial aid from UGC. There is a separate hostel facility provided to our students belonging to backward classes by Social Welfare Department. The Resident Wardens of these hostels take care of the needs of inmates. Necessary care is exercised for providing quality food and drinking water at all our hostels. Reading and Recreation facilities are also provided.

The college's all classrooms are provided with a computer facility, LCD and Interactive Smart Boards, and Audio facility.

The college has a departmental-based laboratory facility for the students.

The college has a convenience store facility for students. (like, photocopying facility & stationery, etc.)

  The college has Career Guidance and Placement Cell that helps the students to look for a suitable career and provides an opportunity for them to seek job opportunities for final year students. The Cell conducts workshops and Training programs on career orientation, higher study options, self-employment, and management to make the students to be benefitted from the available choices in this cell. Experienced resource persons are invited to give career counseling to students. The cell has arranged various soft skill programs on communication skills, personality development, stress management, and preparation of curriculum to facilitate the students by way of recognizing and nurturing their talents. Interview sessions, as well as aptitude tests, were organized for final year students, and training programs on soft skill development and career building were arranged for benefits the students of the History, Optional English, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, and Optional Kannada. Also, conducted interview skill awareness for our students in order to gain success in their careers. Motivation classes were conducted to bring about voluntary commitment and involvement among students to perform well.
