SSD Girls College, situated in Bathinda city, Punjab, was set up in 1966 to provide higher education exclusively to girls. The affiliated college has a rich history of grooming students in the city of Bath established over five decades. The institution occupies a dense area of 3.04 acres of ground and offers quality education to only the female candidates. SDS Girls College currently has 917 students and 31 members from the faculty, providing 17 courses based on 11 degrees of study and targeting different academic areas of interest and career niches. It is equally worth mentioning that the college is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) to show concern of maintaining a sound educations system. SSD Girls College has both conventional and professional courses; the most popular courses are B.Com., BBA, BCA and sciences and arts disciplines. This focus on all-round development stands out boldly in the balanced academic and co-curricular programmes that this institution offers to its learners.

The facilities present at SSD Girls College include: Students get to use of a number of facilities in their learning process. Academic Facility: The college has its well-stocked and rich library with books 34565 and above, 36 encyclopaedias, journals and magazines in abundance for academic demands. To the college student who would like to be a boarder, the college provides a comfortable hostel that can host approximately 300 learners with modern facilities, such as 24-hour hot water supply and digital generators that make one to refer to the hostel as their home, as the slogan goes, ‘A Home Away from Home’.

In total, the college provides 17 courses, among which there are master and bachelor degree programmes. These include Commerce, science, total arts, computer applications, etc. It offers full-time courses for its students and ALL fields of interest are catered for. We are not given the exact total student intake capacity of all the different courses, but we are informed that new courses that are offered include B.Com with a capacity of 120 students and B.Com (Hons) with a capacity of 60 students, while other courses such as BBA, BCA, and B.Sc. have a capacity of 50 students each.
