Namakkal: SSM College of Arts and Science – A Premier Institution in the State of Tamil Nadu, India was established in the year 2005. Located in Komarapalayam, on the NH – 544 Salem Coimbatore Highway, this affiliated college straddles over 10 acres of land. SSM College has a total strength of 2019 students and has a faculty of 88 members teaching 8 degree programs through 20 different courses. The institution boasts of delivering on value at every level in courses that cut across arts, science, commerce and management disciplines.
It has developed high-quality facilities to support the college learning environment and all round development of students. Accommodation of updated knowledge is provided for as well through functional libraries while modern information technology is facilitated to the students. The infrastructural endowment of the campus includes; a busy and colorful cafeteria, a large automated auditorium to host events/seminars, well-equipped and expansive sports halls to foster health and team spirit. There are separate hostel facilities for the students who need to stay back, for boys and girls; these are very comfortable. College also takes much effort with providing health centre, and first aid facilities for the students. There are fully equipped laboratories that will help various departments to attend their practical learning and research needs.
Today, SSM College of Arts and Science has an undergraduate program and postgraduate program. The institution offers fourteen undergraduate programs and six postgraduate programs; EACH of which ONLY offers FULL TIME studies. These include BA English, BCA, BBA, B.Com, B.Sc in various specializations like Computer Science, Hotel Management and Catering Science, Biotechnology and Textiles and Fashion Designing. At the postgraduate level of education, this college provides M.Com, M.Sc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Textile and Fashion Designing and MA in English. It expanded a repository of its course offerings where the B.Sc in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science course is notably embedded, as the college adapts to new markets.

Decent college to studying
College Infrastructure
Infrastructure is basic. Has got all needed facilities like canteen, hostel with sharing rooms. Maintanence is okay. An auditorium is there to host important functions. Laboratories are equipped with needed things for the practical sessions.
