    Established in 1948, State Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Lucknow is one of the premier institutions in the country in the Ayurveda education and health care. Constituent college Located at Turiyaganj, Lucknow on a sprawling campus of 29,973 Sq mt space with requisite infrastructure. The CCIM approved institution offers 11 courses at three-degree levels—BAMS, MD, and Ph.D. in Ayurveda. Having 31 members in its faculty, the institution imparts specialised education in the various branches of Ayurved. 

    The college is fully equipped with all modern facilities for the all-round development of students.  State Ayurvedic College and Hospital has a huge library that stocks over 10,000 books and 50 journals on Ayurvedic medicine for reference by students. There is also the International Library of the University, which maintains approximately 218,000 books, including a huge stock of ancient manuscripts. Departmental laboratories in the college further facilitate practical experience in the chosen courses. It provides sports facilities for extracurricular activities to all its students within its premises, thereby encouraging a balanced growth of the student pertaining to studies and development of personality. 

    State Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Lucknow, is one such unique institution that offers a wide spectrum of courses to suit different needs at various levels of Ayurvedic Education. The institution offers 11 full-time courses with the flag course as BAMS with an intake of 75 students. The college, at a postgraduate level, has numerous MD courses; each of these courses has specified intake capacities, such as Kayachikitsa, Dravyaguna Vigyan, and Prasuti. Then, there is a Ph.D. course in Ayurveda for those interested in advanced research into the subject.

    At State Ayurvedic College and Hospital, Lucknow, there is a national entrance exam. Normally, students are admitted to the BAMS program based on their performance in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Students at the postgraduate level for the MD programs are admitted via the All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET). This set of standardized tests at the entrance level helps in admitting students who have a strong base in basic sciences and an aptitude for Ayurvedic studies at the undergraduate level. The institution also accepts NEET PG scores for some postgraduate courses.
