36 MonthsGeneral Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a three-year full-time diploma program offered by Himachal Pradesh Nurses Registration Council, Shimla, Chamba, and approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum education eligibility criteria for admission to GNM –
- 10 + 2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually from any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School, recognized by the State Government, and National Institute of Open School (NOS), recognized by the Central Government; however, Science is preferred.
- 10 + 2 with English, having 40% marks in the vocational ANM course from a school recognized by the Indian Nursing Council.
- 10 + 2 with English, having 40% of marks in the vocational stream, health care science from a recognized CBSE Board/ State / Centre.
- Registered ANM with pass marks.
- Admission of students shall be once a year.
- Students shall be medically fit.
- Minimum age for admission will be 17 years (as on 31st December of the year). The upper age limit is 35 years. For ANM / LHV, there is no age bar.

- In addition to the above, admission procedures can be laid down by the concerned State Nursing Council / Nursing Examination Boards Admission / Selection Committee.
